June 18, 2012 Marie-Louise has today become our granddaughter

June 18, 2012 Marie-Louise has today become our granddaughter's birthday and 16 years. Too bad we are not there. This morning as usual to let the bus again but yes there you get used to as well. First we have a tour of the neighborhoods of Hollandia where everyone lived. Then we went to the lake Sentani where we boats to Tobati a village in the lake where the houses on stilts in the water hazards. We were warmly welcomed by the local population with a traditional dance. There we looked around there was a church like in every town of Lake Sentani. Then we went to Engros also an island village on stilts. Here also was the welkomscomité ready. This village is the birthplace of Albert Tan old "neighbor" he is now 65 years old. Albert has arranged with more people from Jayapura ashmont grill everything ashmont grill and that is really a chore. We have eaten there and then there was a group of boys and girls who danced for us. For me it was a variation on the polonaise but yes I see the occasional bit wrong. Everyone was very nice. The village has a church that was severely damaged by the tsunami. Everything is again repaired, but they were so quick with their own home. The church on Engros is a floating church. To get to the islands, you had nice climb the scaffolding were very high, some people had to have a real ass otherwise did not manage to get on the scaffolding.
